Study Abroad
Gain global experience, advance your language skills, and jump-start your career—financial aid may be available so cost is not a barrier.
Opportunities to study abroad
Jackson State University offers excellent opportunities to students interested in studying abroad. Students are able to gain experiences with cultures and other ethnic groups outside of the United States. They will gain experience in global technology, advance their language skills, and meet new people. Students must complete an application, meet eligibility requirements, and be in good standing at JSU.
There are five types of Study Abroad programs at Jackson State University:
- Independent Study Abroad
- Faculty Lead
- JSU Passport To The World
- Intern Abroad
- Student Exchange Program
Students are able to select an appropriate program; earn credit hours and experiences; spend two weeks in a foreign country; do research; “jump-start” their career; do internships; and participate in student exchange programs globally.
Financial aid may be available to students who qualify—“cost is not a barrier.” Students must enroll full-time at JSU to receive credit toward their degree. There may be other assistance available to students through other areas of the University.
