The mission of the Office of the Registrar and Records at Jackson State University is to maintain the integrity of the academic records of student achievement at JSU.
The Office of the Registrar and Records collaborates with the academic community to register, retain, and graduate students. It is the responsibility of the Office to maintain the accuracy of all student records. We assist the University community with registration, scheduling, grading, graduation, verification of enrollment and degree, and processing transcripts.

FERPA: Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
The Office of the Registrar and Records is the primary FERPA compliance office at JSU. FERPA is the federal law that protects the privacy of student education records and gives parents and eligible students certain rights with respect to those records.

Graduating from JSU
The Office of the Registrar and Records is responsible for degree audit, graduation processing, and diploma issuance for graduating JSU students. Students approaching graduation should review their degree audit, ensure all requirements are met, and file a graduation application according to the deadlines published in the Academic Calendar.
