Dr. Bobbie Daniels' biography
Dr. Bobbie Daniels is an associate professor of accounting at Jackson State University where she completed a Ph.D. in Business Administration with a major in Accounting. She also holds the professional accounting designations, Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM).
Prior to entering academe, Dr. Daniels worked as a Controller for a home health agency and as a Budget and Accounting Director for the State of Mississippi. Dr. Daniels has taught Financial, Managerial, Governmental and International accounting courses. Her academic record includes publications in numerous professional journal articles and professional meeting presentations. Among the journals in which she has published are the following: Accounting Educator's Journal, Research in Accounting Regulation, The Journal of Corporate Accounting & Finance, International Journal of Accounting Information Science and Leadership, Journal of Finance and Accountancy and The CPA Journal. She has presented her research at American Accounting Association (AAA) 2005 Audit Midyear Meeting, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2011 Annual AAA meetings and at the 2007 Southeast Regional AAA meeting.
She was voted “teacher of the year” in 2001, 2009, and 2012 and “advisor of the year” in 2007 in the College of Business at JSU. She was recently awarded the 2025 Outstanding Educator of the Year Award by the Mississippi Society of CPAs.
Dr. Daniels is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, Association of Government Accountants, and National Association of Black Accountants.
