Dr. Nicholas J. Hill is a native of Canton, Mississippi, with a strong belief in the value of educating the next generation of global leaders in business, especially those from HBCUs. His current research interest centers around contemporary issues in health, labor and urban economics, with a strategic focus on African American entrepreneurship rates.
His transparent financial management and fundraising efforts have secured significant funding for the universities he has served, through developing key and strategic partnerships with private and financial institutions as well as government agencies.
As an academic leader, he is responsible for developing innovative ways to enhance the academic experience for students by preparing them for the emerging global business market. Because of his strong belief in business and community engagement, he enthusiastically serves as the Dean of the College of Business at Jackson State University. His commitment to program quality and stakeholder engagement has been central to the College of Business's success.
His greatest accomplishment is that he is the husband of Dr. Mary-Margarette Hill and the father of his four sons, Nicholas Jr., Harper, Clark, and Jean-Marc.
