Welcome to AERC

Removing barriers, empowering scholars

The Accessible Education and Resource Center (AERC) is dedicated to removing academic and institutional barriers for scholars with disabilities. We accomplish this through the coordination of individualized, legally compliant accommodations, proactive student support, and campus-wide education on accessibility and equity.

Our mission is rooted in empowerment: to give every scholar the tools, resources, and advocacy they need to fully engage in the learning experience.

Serving the Community

We commit to:

Facilitating meaningful access to classrooms, resources, and educational materials

Providing timely and appropriate accommodations based on student needs and documentation

Supporting self-advocacy and independence among scholars with disabilities

Promoting a culture of inclusion that values and respects disability as part of human diversity

Our Vision

A nationally recognized model for inclusive excellence

Our vision is to become a nationally recognized model for inclusive excellence in higher education. We envision a campus where:

Every scholar — regardless of disability — is welcomed, supported, and celebrated

Faculty and staff are educated partners in the accessibility process

Universal Design for Learning is standard practice

Students with disabilities are visible leaders, scholars, and innovators on campus

“Accessibility is not a service — it is a right. It is not the job of a few but the responsibility of all.”
