Honoring Latasha Norman
A Tribute to Her Memory
Latasha Norman
The Latasha Norman Center stands as a tribute to the student who died as a result of domestic violence — Latasha Norman, a 20-year-old native of Greenville, Mississippi and an accounting major at Jackson State University. She would have graduated in May 2010.
Her memory lives on through the Center's mission to support JSU students facing adjustment challenges, mental health concerns, and crisis situations — ensuring no student feels they must face such challenges alone.
Center history: The Latasha Norman Center for Counseling and Psychological Services was erected in 2007. In 2012, the Center's name changed to the Latasha Norman Center for Counseling and Disability Services when the disability services and counseling programs were unified in one location. Presently, the Center operates as the Latasha Norman Center for Counseling Services.
